Don’t fix what’s not broken, says reader
To the Editor:

RE: “Public welcome to comment on plans for Victoria Park, Kincardine, until June 21”

My thoughts:

  1. Use normal English language instead of flowery phrases used in the descriptions.
  2. Why spend money on a company to come up with designs BEFORE asking the taxpayers for their input on “re-imagining?”
  3. One aspect was to maintain “heritage” - keep the fountain, keep the cannons, keep the bandshell. All are heritage.
  4. If the bandshell is not accessible, then a ramp can be wound around it to provide access.
  5. Paint the bandshell in the heritage colours it was supposed to be before the Kincardine Scottish Festival people (of the time) painted it in their blue.
  6. Stop wasting our money on staff’s fantasies.
  7. Maintain the park as it is - clean it, fix what is broken, put in new trees, if required.
  8. Don’t fix what is not broken!
