Bitterly-cold wind in downtown Kincardine for Hometown Christmas

Bitterly-cold wind in downtown Kincardine for Hometown Christmas
A bitterly-cold wind blew through downtown Kincardine during Hometown Christmas Saturday night, Nov. 21.

But that didn't slow down the crowd of adults and children who filled Queen Street for the many activities, including horse-drawn wagon ride;, a petting zoo with a camel, a llama, goats and donkeys; a live nativity scene put on by the Kincardine Ministerial Association; the Grinch, Blinky, and, of course, lots of shopping in the stores that stayed open late for the event.

Organized by the Lakeside Downtown Kincardine BIA (Business Improvement Area), the event began with a tree-lighting at Victoria Park, with the Kincardine Community Singers carolling.

Kincardine mayor Anne Eadie welcomed everyone to a typical windy, cold evening in downtown Kincardine, and thanked the organizers, the BIA and the public works crew for helping make the event a success.

Santa and Mrs. Claus joined the festivities, greeting the children and handing out candy canes.

Hometown Christmas officially kicks off the holiday shopping season in downtown Kincardine.
