South Bruce OPP arrest impaired drivers at RIDE checkpoints
IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AT WALKERTON RIDE CHECK
(BROCKTON, ON) - Aug. 11, at 11:15 p.m., the South Bruce OPP conducted a traffic stop during a RIDE checkpoint on Durham Street, Walkerton, in the Municipality of Brockton.
The driver was found to have been under the influence of alcohol, was placed under arrest and taken to a qualified breath technician.
John GAYOSSO, 38, of South Bruce was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - over-80
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Possession of a Schedule III substance
DRIVER ARRESTED IN ARRAN-ELDERSLIE RIDE CHECK
(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - Aug. 9, at 11:25 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer arrested a driver while conducting a RIDE checkpoint on Bruce County Road 10 in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.
The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol, was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.
Jordan DOWLING, 24, of the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol.
The driver will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver's licence suspension and immediate vehicle impoundment for seven days.
