To the Editor:

We, the Al Merei family, thank our sponsors, the Kincardine Refugee Committee, as well as Dr. Lisa Roth, the teachers and staff at Kincardine District Senior School, Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School and Huron Heights Public School, for their guidance, welcoming our children with open hearts.

We also thank everyone who participated and volunteered to help us when we arrived in Canada, Sept. 10, 2020, through until our departure from Kincardine, Aug. 16, 2024, to London, Ontario.

We appreciate the time you spent to help us with our education and integration into the local community and into this beautiful town. We will always remember you and your kindness.

Our family thanks you all and will carry very good memories of Kincardine, and its community.
