​Bruce Power, employees, community raise $40,000 for Alberta wildfire emergency relief

Thanks to the generosity of employees and members of the community, Bruce Power’s fund-raising campaign for Alberta wildfire relief resulted in a $40,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross. Bruce Power matched the employee and community contributions of $20,000.

The Alberta and Canadian governments are tripling the donation, meaning the total contribution from Bruce Power’s campaign was $120,000.

“Bruce Power believes strongly in community and, along with Bruce Power employees and local residents, extends its support to Alberta to help our neighbours in need,” said James Scongack, chief operating officer and executive vice-president of Bruce Power. “We support the Red Cross for its tireless and selfless commitment to helping those in need.”

The Red Cross is delivering emergency relief to those impacted by the devastation of fires in Jasper and other regional areas. The money raised will allow the agency to provide relief and support recovery efforts, resiliency, and preparedness activities as many residents return home and others continue to be displaced.
