​South Bruce OPP report impaired driver; break-in; theft; suspended driver; police chase; and stunt-driver

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AT RIDE CHECKPOINT

(TEESWATER, ON) - Aug. 16, members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE checkpoint in Teeswater.  

At 11:04 p.m., police stopped a vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.

Zachery LOSCH, 29, of Howick Township was charged with Operation while impaired - blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus).

POLICE SEEK INFORMATION ABOUT BREAK-AND-ENTER IN KINCARDINE

(KINCARDINE, ON) - The South Bruce OPP is appealing to the public for information pertaining to a break-and-enter in Kincardine.

Aug. 18, police received the report of a break-and-enter at a business property along Queen Street, Kincardine. Once inside, the individual(s) stole approximately $2,500 in clothing.

Police are asking the public to check video surveillance around Queen Street, Kincardine, between Aug. 18 at 8 p.m., and the early hours of Aug. 19.

TOOLS STOLEN IN ARRAN-ELDERSLIE

(ARRAN TWP, ON) - Aug. 14, the South Bruce OPP received the report of a break-and-enter at a rural property along Bruce County Road 17 in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

The break-and-enter occurred between Aug. 7 and Aug. 14. Unknown individual(s) entered the property and stole the following tools:
 

• Earthquake air impact gun
• Dewalt impact gun
• Dewalt brushless impact
• Dewalt impact driver
• Dewalt drill
• Dewalt 20V batteries
• Dewalt charger
• Rigid impact driver
• Rigid drill
• Launch X431 Pro Scan Tool
• Two impact socket sets
• Mastercraft tool set

The total value of the stolen items is approximately $3,500.

DRIVER IN TEESWATER DISREGARDS VEHICLE LAWS

(TEESWATER, ON) - Aug. 19, at 11:25 p.m., South Bruce OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check on Clinton Street, Teeswater, when they stopped a vehicle.

The driver, a 28-year-old resident of South Bruce, was charged with the following offences:
 

• Driving while under suspension
• Operate motor vehicle no insurance
• Drive motor vehicle no permit
• Obstruct plate
• Operate unsafe vehicle
• Fail to notify a change of address

These charges include a licence suspension and vehicle impoundment. The driver will appear in court at a later date.

FOOT PURSUIT IN CHESLEY LEADS TO ARREST

(CHESLEY, ON) - Members of the South Bruce OPP arrested an individual, following a foot pursuit in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Aug. 15, police received the report that an individual was breaching a release order. Police attended and located the individual on 1st Avenue North in Chesley. The individual attempted to flee on foot but was arrested by police after a short foot pursuit.

Derek SEIP, 30, of Arran-Elderslie is charged with:
 

• Fail to comply with release order
• Mischief under $5,000

MOTORIST CAUGHT DRIVING TWICE THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT

(BROCKTON, ON) - Aug. 17, at 4:05 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Bruce County Road 3 in the Municipality of Brockton, noticed a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle's speed was displayed on radar at 162 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

A 32-year-old non-resident of Ontario was charged with Stunt-Driving.

This charge includes an immediate 30-day driver's licence suspension and an immediate 14-day vehicle impoundment.
