Doug Kennedy was a great guy with a huge heart and a passion for sports
To the Editor:
I’ve heard many tributes to the late Doug Kennedy, community champion of Kincardine, and for the most part, they are right on the money.
Doug was a great guy with a huge heart and a passion for sports.
He believed in second and third chances, sticking up for the little guy, doing the right thing, and he believed that sports develops character, which in turn, creates good citizens. He knew winning is more fun than losing and that you can't win without sacrifice. He was an expert at delegating different jobs that would connect to make a big difference.
Doug wasn't perfect. He never preached from a pedestal. He was human, and that's one of the reasons everyone loved him.
He touched so many lives in this town. It would be hard to find a Kincardine resident that he didn't know personally.
Ask anyone in this town about the hole in the community that his death leaves.
He will be missed. By all of those who knew him.
