Stolen vehicle recovered, driver arrested

(KINCARDINE, ON) - Sept. 18, at 4:52 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a stolen pick-up truck with attached livestock trailer, taken from an address along Sideroad 15 North in the Municipality of Kincardine.

The vehicle was abandoned in the area of Bervie Sideroad and Concession 5; the driver then fled on foot. The OPP Canine Unit and members of the Emergency Response Team were called to assist.

An individual was later located and placed under arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Nathan CHAMBERS, 27, of North Huron, has been charged with the following offences:
 

• Theft over $5,000 - CC 334(a)
• Dangerous Operation - CC 320.13(1)
• Operation While Prohibited - CC 320.18(1)(a)
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order - CC 733.1(1) - two counts
• Theft under $5,000 - CC 334(b)
• Driving while under suspension - HTA 53(1)
• Failure to Comply with Undertaking - CC 145(4)(a)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
