​Huron County OPP part of Operation Impact during Thanksgiving weekend

(HURON COUNTY, ON) - Members of the Huron County OPP will be taking part in Operation Impact, the traffic campaign, held Oct. 11-14, during the Thanksgiving weekend.

The focus will be placed on traffic safety and the "Big Four" which include: distracted driving, alcohol/drug-impaired driving, speeding/aggressive driving, and seatbelt compliance.

Last year, Huron OPP officers conducted 216 traffic stops and issued 119 charges during this initiative, including:
 

• 87 for speeding
• Four for stunt-driving
• Five for seatbelts
• One for impaired driving
• One for distracted driving
• Four insurance-related
• 17 various traffic-related

Huron OPP officers also issued 55 warnings during the campaign period in 2023.
