Order of Eastern Star donates to Good Food Box initiative

The Bruce Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star has donated $1,000 to the Good Food Box Neighbour-to-Neighbour initiative.

Each year, the Worthy Matron of the local chapter selects a project to which some of the funds raised that year are given.

This past year, Donna Mowry, Worthy Matron, chose the Good Food Box program. The Neighbour-to-Neighbour initiative supplies free Good Food Boxes to low-income families and seniors. The monthly box includes a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables and is designed to encourage people to eat a healthier diet.

Over the years, the Bruce Chapter of the Eastern Star has donated to the Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary, the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, the Huron Shores Hospice, Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, etc.
