​Jack-o-Lantern Trail a huge success at Bruce Botanical Food Gardens in Ripley

The inaugural Huron-Kinloss Jack-o-Lantern Trail was a huge success.

Held Friday night at the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens in Ripley, the event drew about 90 people despite the chilly, rainy weather.

Thanks to the incredible support from the community, more than 100 Jack-o-Lanterns were donated from Ripley, Lucknow, and Point Clark, filling the gardens with a magical glow. Instead of ending up in landfills or rotting on doorsteps, these pumpkins have been repurposed to feed local livestock — a collaborative sustainable effort.

People braved the elements for a cozy evening filled with community spirit, and enjoyed warming up with hot chocolate or hot apple cider provided by the food gardens. The children especially loved choosing their favourite Jack-o-Lanterns among the glowing displays.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss and the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens appreciate all the volunteers and community members who made this event such a memorable night. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Jack-o-Lantern Trail!
