Kincardine Legion Corner

Cindy McDermid won the Catch the Ace draw, taking home the weekly prize of $2,752. She chose Envelope No. 2 which contained the Jack of Hearts. This means the Ace of Spades remains at large, and will for the rest of the year. Our draw-master Russ Crook was a little bit under the weather, so Branch 183 vice-president Teri Leslie hosted the live feed of the draw. We are taking a short break for the holidays so the next Catch the Ace draw will be Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025. On-line ticket sales resume Jan. 1, 2025, at 8 p.m. but you can still purchase tickets in person at the usual local retailers. Ace tickets make great stocking stuffers!

At the Saturday Meat Draw, we didn’t have any double-dippers, the prizes were well distributed. Linda Hamilton took home $233 in the 50/50 draw, and we are guessing that “She’ll be back.” If you get this reference, let’s be friends. There will be NO Meat Draws Dec. 21 or Dec. 28.

A few reminders for the rest of December:
 

• The Legion will be closed Dec. 25-26. We are open Dec. 24, but closing early. 183 EATS will be closed for lunches, Dec. 23-25, 30-31 and Jan. 1, and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 6.
• To everyone with tickets to our sold-out New Year’s Eve Party with the Adam Cousins Band, we hope you have a great time!
• For the New Year’s Day Levee at the Legion, the doors open at Noon, with toasts at 1 p.m., followed by a light lunch.
  
  The Legion Corner will take a break for a few weeks. So, from everyone at Branch 183, we hope you have a festive holiday season and a peaceful New Year. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and a very Happy New Year!
