U13 Kinucks advance to the championship finals at Kincardine Silver Stick Regional
One local team has made it to the championship finals at the Kincardine Silver Stick Regional Tournament which wraps up tomorrow (Dec. 30), at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The Kincardine U13 “B1” Kinucks ended the round-robin action at the top of the standings with two wins. They advanced to the semi-finals where they took on the Saugeen Valley Steelheads, edging them out, 5-4, to move on to the finals against the Saugeen Shores Storm, set for Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Davidson Centre.
Meanwhile, the Kincardine U15 “B1” Kinucks landed in second place after the round-robin portion, with three wins. They advanced to the semi-finals against the Saugeen Shores Storm, but lost, 5-4.
The Huron-Bruce U13 “B2” Blizzard finished in ninth place after round-robin games, and did not advance to the finals.
The Huron-Bruce U15 “B2” Blizzard topped Pool C in round-robin action and advanced to the quarter-finals against the Goderich Sailors, Sunday night. Unfortunately, they lost that game by a close 3-2 score.
The championship games run Monday afternoon at the Davidson Centre.
