After a warm, rainy end to 2024, the new year arrived with windy, cooler weather.
The Kincardine area saw a sprinkling of snow on New Year’s Eve, and more snow on New Year’s Day, with even more expected later in the week.
The high wind stirred up Lake Huron along the shoreline at Kincardine, and made it seem colder than it really was, with a temperature of two degrees Celsius.
Environment Canada has issued a snow squall warning, forecasting heavy snowfall, with accumulations of 30-60 centimetres (cm), through Thursday night, along with high wind which could mean poor visibility at times in the blowing and drifting snow.
