Driver charged after truck stolen in Goderich
(GODERICH, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a Mississauga resident, following a truck theft in the Town of Goderich.
Jan. 4, just after 6:20 a.m., officers were contacted by a vehicle owner who reported the theft of a 2024 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck from the owner’s laneway on South Street in Goderich.
Officers observed the stolen truck travelling eastbound on Huron Road and set up tire deflation devices which were successfully deployed, deflating the front tires of the truck.
The driver, Joseph SHEPHERD, 19, of Mississauga, was arrested without incident and charged as follows:
- Theft Over $5,000
- Flight From Peace Officer
The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Highway Traffic Act, including failing to stop for Stop sign and driving without a licence.
SHEPHERD was processed and held in custody for a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich, where the individual was remanded into custody.
