South Bruce OPP plan to hold “Youth in Policing” Academy
(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - The South Bruce OPP is holding a six-week “Youth in Policing” Academy, beginning in March.
This is an interactive opportunity for youth in Grades 10-12, who reside in the southern Bruce County area, to learn more about policing. Topics covered include general patrol duties, major criminal investigations, canine services, emergency response, forensic identification, collision reconstruction, and impaired driving investigations.
The program will be held at one of the South Bruce OPP detachments (Kincardine or Walkerton), Wednesdays, from 5-7 p.m., beginning March 5, and concluding April 9.
Do you have an interest in a future in policing, or are you looking to learn more about the profession and what the OPP can offer? This program might be for you!
Applications are available at the two South Bruce OPP detachment locations: 700 Kincardine Avenue, Kincardine, or 25 Bruce County Road 19, Walkerton. They must be dropped off in person at the detachment, and valid photo identification will need to be presented at that time.
The deadline for applications is Feb. 20. Successful applicants will be notified by E-mail.
