Don Huston appointed acting deputy fire chief for Kincardine station
Don Huston, senior captain with Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services, has been appointed acting deputy fire chief for Station 12 (Kincardine).
He takes over from Matt Cottrill who retired Jan. 1, 2025, after 22 years of service.
The appointment bylaw was approved at the Kincardine council meeting Wednesday night (Jan. 8).
The municipality offered appreciation to Cottrill for his significant contributions to the fire department.
Huston has agreed to step into the role on an interim basis until a new deputy fire chief is selected.
