South Bruce OPP report break-in; impaired driver; and weapons charges
TEEN ARRESTED AFTER BREAK-AND-ENTER
(KINCARDINE, ON) - Jan. 11, at 12:52 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a break-and-enter at a business property along Queen Street, Kincardine.
The OPP Canine Unit and members of the Emergency Response Team located a youth a short distance from the scene; the individual was then taken in custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old of Kincardine, has been charged with the following offences:
- Break-and-Enter - CC 348(1)(a) - two counts
- Theft under $5,000 - CC 334(b)
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000 - CC 355(b)
- Mischief under $5,000 - CC 430(4) - two counts
The youth's identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date.
DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED AFTER COLLISION
(BROCKTON, ON) - Jan. 11, at approximately 6 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a motor vehicle collision along Bruce County Road 4 near Ontario Road, in the Municipality of Brockton.
On arrival, officers located a two-vehicle collision. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from one of the involved drivers. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.
Natasha VARLEY, 27, of Mount Forest was charged with Impaired Operation (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b).
The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice, Feb. 12.
CHARGES LAID FOLLOWING INCIDENT NORTH OF CHEPSTOW
(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - The South Bruce OPP, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, West Region OPP Canine Unit, and OPP Aviation Unit responded to a weapons incident in Greenock Township, Jan. 11, just after 2 p.m.
One individual was located in an isolated area along Schmidt Lake Road and taken into custody, without incident.
As a result of the investigation, Logan VIENNEAU, 19, of Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, CC 91(1)
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon, CC 94
- Failure to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) - three counts
- Fail to comply with probation order, CC 733.1(1)
- Possession of a schedule I substance, CDSA 4(1)
The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
