​Bruce Power named one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for 14th consecutive year

Bruce Power has been named one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People for the 14th consecutive year as it continues to provide excellent opportunities to begin and flourish in a career in the nuclear industry.

The company was, once again, presented with this honour through an editorial competition organized by the “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” project and announced in the “Globe and Mail.”

The award was given in recognition of Bruce Power’s programs for young people, including on-line and in-house training programs, employee resource and affinity groups, the development student program for work experience, and industry-leading career development opportunities.

“Young people play a crucial role in Bruce Power’s culture of excellence, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that drive our success,” said Karen Smith, vice-president and chief human resources officer. “From day one, all new team members receive exceptional training and support, ensuring they become integral parts of our team, and have opportunities to grow their future careers.”

“Canada’s Top Employers for Young People” is an editorial competition that recognizes employers offering the nation’s best workplaces and programs for young people starting their careers. Winners are chosen based on the programs and initiatives they offer to attract and retain younger workers.

The editors also examine each employer’s mentorship and training programs, including such benefits as bonuses paid on completing trades or professional designations. And the editors review each employer’s career-management program, looking for initiatives that help younger workers advance faster in the organization.

Bruce Power’s Life-Extension Program and Major Component Replacement project will extend the life of the site to 2064 and beyond, long-term investments in its nuclear fleet that will provide employment and career opportunities in an exciting industry for decades to come. The company is also exploring the possibility of expansion on the Bruce Power site through its Bruce “C” project.
