Quinn Martyn of Ripley dies at the age of 20
Quinn David Martyn of Ripley, died Jan. 24, 2025, at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, at the age of 20.

His life was taken too early! He lived his life from the start, knowing he had one life to live! Every day was a new day and a day to learn and do new things!

Although he was in this world for a short time, he loved with his whole heart, played with his whole heart and work, for him, was no different. He died doing what he loved, which was lending a helping hand to someone else.

He was working toward what he has dreamed of since he was six years old and was on a path to becoming an amazing crane operator, along with the entire Mammoet Team!

At 20, he was selfless.

He is survived by all of his most important people: his proud and forever grateful parents, Scott and Sarah Martyn; his grandparents, Doug and Karen Martyn; his Papa, David Hirtenfeld; aunts and uncles, Don and Laurie, Ainslie and Gary, Aunt "Cheech" (Rachel) and Brad Mackay, and Uncle Gee (Gary McDonnell); as well as his cousins, Marley and Jason, Callie and Trevor, Dawson and Breigha, Brett and Asher.

Quinn was able to be with, and make friends with, anyone. He was witty and loved by everyone he met.

He’ll be missed by his "cottage sibs," Carson, Grandma (Abby), Nash, Matt and Hayley, Abby, Hannah and Emma.

His friends, "all his boys" and "all his girls," you each know who you are!

Quinn has made so many connections within his community, and through his many places of employment. He has been touched by so many incredible people.

A private family funeral will be conducted at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley, with Marilynne Gilchrist officiating.

Interment, Ripley Cemetery.

A Celebration of Quinn’s Life will be held at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre, Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. It’s a place Quinn spent many happy hours, playing hockey with his friends. Memories will be shared at 1 p.m., and a come-and-go reception will follow until 5 p.m.

As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of South Bruce North Huron.
