Bruce Power named one of Canada’s Best Employers for fifth consecutive year
Bruce Power has been named one of Canada’s Best Employers, marking the fifth consecutive year the company has been honoured with this distinction.
Forbes, in collaboration with Statista, a leading statistics and industry ranking provider, conducts an independent survey of more than 40,000 Canadian employees each year. The ranking is based primarily on the survey of people working for Canadian companies and institutions that employ at least 500 individuals.
Survey respondents were asked to rate their employers based on a range of criteria, including salary, gender pay-equity, work flexibility, opportunities for promotion and on-the-job training. The final scores were based on these personal evaluations, and public (those given by friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry), with a much higher weighting for personal evaluations.
“It’s an honour to be included as one of Canada’s Best Employers because it’s feedback that has been given by those who work at Bruce Power and those who are industry peers,” said Karen Smith, vice-president and chief human resources officer. “We’re proud to offer opportunities for our employees, partners and tradespeople who take pride in the work they do every day to provide reliable, clean electricity for Ontario and cancer-fighting medical isotopes to the world health-care community.
“Our Life-Extension Program and Major Component Replacement projects are helping to drive Ontario and support career opportunities for decades to come.”
