Atom AE Kinucks hockey team bottle drive raises $2,000

The Kincardine Atom A/E Kinucks hockey team has raised $2,000 through the bottle drive held Jan. 4 in Kincardine.
The 16 players and their parents spent the afternoon gathering up empty refundable bottles, including beer, wine and liquor bottles and beer cans.
The team had hoped to raise about $500 to help offset costs associated with playing hockey. Thanks to the generosity of the community, the Kinucks were able to donate $400 to the Jumpstart charity, $600 to Kincardine Minor Hockey, and the remainder will go toward the Atom AE Kinucks' team/tournament expenses.
