Kincardine Hospital Foundation reaches $10-million milestone in capital campaign
The Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation has announced that its “Building Health Care for Generations” campaign has reached $10-million!
This significant milestone brings the foundation closer to its ambitious goal of raising $18- million for the expansion of the Kincardine Hospital and the addition of a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to this campaign so far,” said foundation president Becky Fair. “Reaching the $10-million mark as we start our third year of the campaign, is a testament to the generosity and commitment of our community. We are confident that, with continued support, we will achieve our goal and enhance health care services for generations to come.”
Graham Mahood, campaign co-chairman, emphasized the importance of community involvement.
“There is often a misconception that the local community does not need to contribute to the cost of a hospital expansion or equipment,” he said. “In reality, the local community must raise 100 per cent of equipment costs and 10 per cent of the construction cost of an expansion project.”
The Kincardine Hospital has not seen a major upgrade in 35 years. The funds raised will support the construction of a new emergency department, laboratory and comprehensive medical imaging unit, including the installation of an MRI. This expansion will double the footprint of critical services offered within the hospital, providing better service and the newest technologies to the growing population.
“The response from the community has been strong to date,” said Kathryn Freimanis, campaign co-chairperson. “Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to realizing a state-of-the-art health-care facility which benefits patients and helps attract new physicians.”
The foundation encourages anyone interested in supporting the campaign, to contact Mark Womack at 519-396-3331, Ext. 4335 or
