South Bruce OPP report pedestrian struck by vehicle; and warrant team gets results
PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY VEHICLE IN WALKERTON

(WALKERTON, ON) - April 16, at 12:16 p.m., the South Bruce OPP and Bruce County Paramedic Services responded to a collision involving a pedestrian, at Durham Street East and Colborne Street South, Walkerton.

A 64-year-old pedestrian was struck by a passenger vehicle while crossing the road. The victim was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver, a 27-year-old resident of Brockton, has been charged with Careless driving causing bodily harm, HTA 130(3).

WARRANT APPREHENSION TEAM YIELDS RESULTS

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) - Jan. 6, 2025, the South Bruce OPP Warrant Apprehension Team ran for a second pilot project. From that date, a total of 63 individuals was arrested and processed.

Two members of the South Bruce OPP were selected for this team, in order to locate and apprehend wanted parties in South Bruce and the surrounding area.

Officers executed warrants, completed compliance checks and laid appropriate charges where violations had taken place. The two officers worked closely with the South Bruce Court Services, regularly executing warrants.

The project has now concluded with the possibility of its return in the near future. The South Bruce OPP now pushes its focus to the busy summer months ahead.
