Walker House Museum to host community art show in August
The Walker House Museum in Kincardine is hosting a community art Show, slated to open Saturday, Aug. 23, during Marine Heritage Day.
Entitled “Shaped by the Shore: Artistic Reflections of Lake Huron,” the show runs Aug. 23 to Oct. 22.
Submissions are welcome from now to July 15.
“We're calling all local artists to reflect the soul of Lake Huron through their creative lens — from its rich history to its ever-changing nature,” says museum curator Lydia Treidlinger. “This show will explore how the lake has inspired generations, and how it continues to shape art and culture today.
“Whether you're inspired by lighthouses, shipwrecks, waves, or quiet coastal moments, we want to see how Lake Huron speaks to you.”
Artists will have the opportunity to show and sell their work.
Those interested should download the submission guidelines, at
