​Allison Lupton Band to perform at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine

Knox Presbyterian Church in Kincardine is hosting another community service event, featuring the inspiring and entertaining Allison Lupton Band, Friday, May 30, at 7 p.m.

This band has been performing across Canada, bringing its wide ranging repertoire of Celtic/folk music to delighted audiences.

Allison Lupton hails from the heart of rural Ontario where her love for music took root in church choirs and local sessions. From playing for community dances to soloing with orchestras, she has found her voice as a singer-songwriter and flutist after more than a quarter of a century performing in Canada and abroad. 

Along the way, she has received accolades from international press as well as her peers at home, winning Folk Music Ontario's "Songs From The Heart," and multiple Canadian Folk Music Award (CFMA) nominations, including “Traditional Singer of the Year.”

Lupton is now on tour, promoting her album, “Words of Love.” She is joined by Shane Cook, Canadian and United States Grand National fiddle champion; Kyle Waymouth, CFMA Solo Instrumental Artist of the Year and Canadian Grand Master Step Dance champion; and James McElenay, CFMA Instrumental Group of the Year Award winner.

Live shows confirm the depth of talent in a glorious mix of beautiful story songs, electrifying fiddle tunes and dazzling step dance, united by the band’s warm and frequently humorous stage presence.

Woven through performances are Lupton’s original songs which fit so perfectly into the treasury of folk music that they could easily be mistaken for traditional numbers.

Lupton and her band carry audiences away to another time, then dance them home again.
