KDSS students mark Earth Day with annual community trash pick-up
A pile of garbage bags was the result of a community trash pick-up by Grades 7-12 students at Kincardine District Senior School, Tuesday, marking Earth Day.
KDSS teacher Katie Taylor organized the event, with about 250 students from 10 classes (seven elementary and three secondary) divided into groups to scour throughout the highways and byways of the Town of Kincardine, picking up garbage.
After just over an hour, the students returned with the bags they had collected, to be picked up by the Kincardine public works crew and taken to the landfill site.
Taylor said the event was a great success.
