Wingham high school hosting information night about fight against human-trafficking
(WINGHAM, ON) - F.E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham is hosting an information session on the fight against human-trafficking, in partnership with the Huron County OPP and Huron County Victim Services.
The event will be held Tuesday, April 29, at 7 p.m., at the school, located at 231 Madill Drive in Wingham, and everyone is welcome to attend.
Speakers include Jenn Evans, operations manager at Victim Services Huron-Perth; and West Region OPP detective sergeant Ashley Horton, team lead – anti-human-trafficking.
In Ontario, there is an increase in human-trafficking, primarily for sexual and labour exploitation, with traffickers increasingly targeting vulnerable individuals from small towns.
