William David “Bill” Mitchell of Kincardine, died Thursday, April 10, 2025, in his 78th year.
Born Sept. 21, 1947, he was the son of the late William Mitchell (1954) and Hilda Murphy (2002).
Bill will be missed by his niece, Debbie Mitchell (late Bob Mitchell), and family.
Remembered by Pam and Norm Fenton and family; Jennifer, Shelly and Jane Robinson; and long-time friends, Ken Davey, Bruce Ross and Valerie.
Predeceased by his siblings, John Mitchell, Dorothea Robinson, Allison Finley, Eleanor MacIvor and Margaret McKinnon; and nephew, John Robert “Bob” Mitchell, in 2023.
Bill (“Fiery” as many knew him) was born in Toronto and lived his whole life in Kincardine.
He was raised on Princes Street, and enjoyed going to the summer house on the 5th Concession of Kincardine where he loved to explore and help the farm hand. He then moved into a home on Huron Ridge with his mother for whom he cared.
Bill enjoyed taking pictures; he would capture anything that caught his interest.
He worked in real estate and like to play cards and go to the horse races where he would maybe place a few bets.
Bill spent most mornings for years, having coffee with the guys and discussing or debating the topic of the day. He did some construction work for anyone who needed a hand.
He had some health struggles in the past few years, and moved into Trillium Court Seniors’ Community, Kincardine, in 2024, where he had great people looking after him. He is now at peace.
Fiery will be remembered and not forgotten.
Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 12 noon until 1 p.m., followed by the funeral at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Judy Zarubick officiating.
Interment, Kincardine Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
