​Kincardine Theatre Guild sails away with six awards for “The Pirates of Penzance”

The Kincardine Theatre Guild has sailed away with six prestigious awards from the Western Ontario Drama League, for its November production of “The Pirates of Penzance.”

The drama league hands out 24 awards, annually, and had 27 productions to chose from for the 2024 season. “The Pirates of Penzance” was nominated for 11 awards.

Director Christine Mensher, producer Jayne McGibney, assistant director Jaki Mayer-Duggan and stage manager Jason Geberdt were on hand at the drama league festival to accept the following awards:
 

• Outstanding Ensemble: The Pirates Of Penzance
• Best Visually Co-ordinated Costumes (Non-Rental): Holly McAdam
• Outstanding Performance in a Major Role: Alex Peroff
• Best Musical Direction: Clayton Peters
• Adjudicator’s Special Award for Best Comedy Timing in a Duo, Trio, or Quartet: The Daughters – Savannah DeLuca, Isabella Geberdt, Paige Wade, and Emily Cassidy
• Adjudicator’s Special Award for Best Scene Transitions: Cast and Crew of The Pirates of Penzance
