Bruce County recognizes paramedics for their dedication, skill and compassion

During National Paramedic Services Week, May 18-25, Bruce County is recognizing and celebrating the dedication, skill and compassion demonstrated by its paramedics.

This year's theme, “We Care. For Everyone,” shines a light on paramedics' efforts, assisting and supporting those in need, often in challenging and high-pressure situations.

The county’s paramedics are highly-trained professionals, ready to respond whenever and wherever they're needed. Their work is as varied as it is vital. Every call they answer is different, but the commitment remains the same: to bring skill, compassion and calm to moments of crisis.

"Paramedic Services Week gives us an opportunity to highlight the essential work our paramedics do and the difference they make,” says Steve Schaus, director of paramedic services for the county. "We invite you to join us in celebrating our health-care heroes who are always ready to respond when called upon.”

Paramedics continue to adapt to evolving health-care needs while maintaining their core mission of providing immediate, compassionate and skilled care to all members of the Bruce County community.

“Our roles and responsibilities are growing and changing,” says Schaus, “and we’re rising to the challenge. From community paramedicine to preventive health care, we’re tasked with providing next-level patient navigation and care in new surroundings, using new technologies.”
