​Kincardine sends condolences to Walkerton community; flags lowered to half-mast

The Municipality of Kincardine sends its deepest sympathies to the Walkerton District Community School students and staff, the community, and especially the families and friends who are grieving, following Friday’s tragic motor vehicle accident that killed one teacher and four students who were returning from a sporting event.

“A tragedy like this reminds us of the fragility of life,” said Kincardine deputy mayor Andrea Clarke. “It reminds us to hold those we love closer and alters the very fabric of a community. On behalf of the Municipality of Kincardine, we extend our most sincere condolences at this time of loss and profound sadness.”

All flags on municipal poles have been lowered to half-mast Monday to honour all affected. They will be raised following the services for those lost.
