Traffic complaint leads to several charges

(MUNICIPALITY OF SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - May 28, at 7:56 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a traffic complaint about a vehicle along Sideroad 20, Municipality of South Bruce.

Police attended the area and located the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

Andrew McGRATH, 28, of the Municipality of South Bruce, was charged with:
 

• Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)
• Failure or refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
• Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
• Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)
• Drive motor vehicle - no licence, HTA 32(1)
• Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero, HTA 44.1(3)
• Drive motor vehicle - no plates, HTA 7(1)(b)(i)
• Operate unsafe vehicle, HTA 84(1)
• G1 licence holder unaccompanied by qualified driver, HTA O.Reg 340/94 5(1)
• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, LLCA 42(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear July 2, at the Walkerton Court of Justice to answer to the charges.
