Kincardine Lions raise $18,000 at Giant Yard Sale

The Kincardine and District Lions Club held a hugely-successful Giant Yard Sale on the weekend, raising $18,000 for the All-Wheel Park at Lions Park, located beside the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.

The Lions thank everyone who contributed to the yard sale, and said the public was “extremely forthcoming" with donations to the sale, and overwhelming with generosity on the day of the sale.

The giant yard sale began 28 years ago, with a few tables outside in the Zehrs parking lot, and has grown considerably.

The $18,000-plus raised from this sale will go a long way in helping the club reach its fund-raising goal for the All-Wheel Park project.

Thanks also to the club members, significant others and volunteers from the community, who assisted with the event this year.

In addition, the Lions welcomed members of Kincardine council, Wednesday, at the All-Wheel Park project sign, adding a sticker to acknowledge the municipality’s $200,000 grant toward the project.

The fund-raising thermometer was raised accordingly, and fund-raising continues.
