​Owner has no plans to rebuild Kincardine laundromat that was lost to fire last year

Chuck Edey, owner of Victoria Park Laundry Services on Durham Market South in Kincardine, has no plans to rebuild the laundromat which burned down last July.

He told the Kincardine Record that the numbers are not feasible to build and operate another laundromat on that property.

“The lot is for sale,” he said. “I hope somebody will take over that property and the Battler property and build condos there, but I’m not rebuilding the laundromat.”

He said he believes other people are looking into the possibility of opening a laundromat in Kincardine.

Last year, on the Saturday of the Kincardine Scottish Festival, fire tore through the laundromat and spread to the CRG Energy building, connected to it on the east side, which also contained the Century 21 In-Studio Realty office.

The buildings have since been torn down and the lot is vacant.
