Kincardine, Clinton Baseball Camps a huge success
The Kincardine and Clinton Baseball Camps, founded by Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb, were a huge success again this year.
The eighth annual camp in Kincardine was held July 9-10, hosted by the Kincardine Minor Baseball Association, while the 11th annual camp in Clinton was held July 7-8, hosted by the Clinton Minor Baseball Association.
This two-day camp gives players, between the ages of seven and 15, the opportunity to improve their hitting, base-running, throwing and fielding skills, helping them develop the teamwork they can use on and off the diamond.
This year, each camp hosted more than 120 boys and girls from Huron and Bruce counties and the surrounding area. Guest head camp instructor, Jorge Saez, baseball associate head coach/recruiting co-ordinator at Lee University in Tennessee, brought an elite level of baseball coaching to Huron-Bruce.
The camps were made possible thanks to the generosity of all the volunteers, helpers, players, and coaches, as well as the sponsors: Bruce Power, Egg Farmers of Ontario, Sure-Stay Plus by Best Western in Kincardine, the Kincardine Legion, Dykeman’s No Frills in Kincardine, Kincardine Lions, Municipality of Central Huron, Verbeek’s Farm and Garden Centres, Benmiller Inn and Spa, Huron Fish and Game Club, Clinton Raceway, Optimist Club of Clinton, Clinton Kinsmen, Maureen Wildfong – Re/Max Reliable Realty, Clinton Legion, Huron Commodities, and Elliott’s Liquidation and Auction.
With their support, the camps remain affordable for the players and continue to contribute to the local baseball community.
