Kincardine Bulldogs stomp Walkerton Capitals, 8-2
The Kincardine Bulldogs notched an 8-2 win over the Walkerton Capitals, in Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) action, Friday night, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Bryce Martin opened the scoring for the ‘Dogs early in the first period, unassisted.
Nathan Lavender then made it a 2-0 game for the Bulldogs, scoring from Cade Moffat and Kale Liddle; and minutes later Zasha Ortman added another one, assisted by Cooper Schneider, to give the ‘Dogs a three-goal lead.
Walkerton scored midway in the period, before Cole Lewis added a short-handed marker for the Bulldogs, unassisted, to make it a 4-1 game.
The Capitals added a powerplay goal, before Lewis scored his second of the game, from Tyler Kelly and Lavender, ending the second period at 5-2.

Kincardine then fired in three unanswered goals in the final frame, to take the 8-2 win. Lewis had his hat-trick goal early in the period, on the powerplay, assisted by Kelly; Ty McQuillin scored from Lewis and Wyatt Thomas; and Tyler Wagler scored from Martin and Ortman.
Bulldogs goalie Rowen Cherrett made 21 saves on 23 shots. Kincardine had 33 shots on goal, while Walkerton had 23.
The ‘Dogs are home to Fergus, Friday, Sept. 26, at 8:30 p.m., and travel to Mitchell, Sunday, Sept. 28, for a 4:30 p.m. game.
