Bruce Power sponsors IPM 2026 with $150,000 pledge
The Bruce County International Plowing Match (IPM) and Rural Expo 2026 committee has announced that Bruce Power has committed a lead pledge of $150,000 to sponsor the event, slated for near Walkerton, Sept. 22-26 next year.

IPM chairman Gord Lang attended the announcement with James Scongack, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Bruce Power, and members of his team, with IPM committee members Josh Bester, Allison Pepper and Bill Walker.

“The organizing committee members are extremely grateful for this leadership pledge,” said Lang. “This is a symbolic message from a significant local business that is investing in agriculture, rural living and our community. Thank you, Bruce Power, for all you do!”

Sponsorship chairman Josh Bester was equally excited. His team has been busy putting together a program that will be attractive to all levels of business and organizations.

“This is a great way to officially launch our sponsorship program and I encourage all those who wish to support, enter an exhibit space, or promote their businesses to the hundreds of thousands of people who will visit and follow the IPM, to reach out as soon as possible to ensure they can capture their preferred opportunity.”

Inquiries can be directed to sponsorship2026ipm@gmail.com or call Bester at 519-270-9020.

Scongack said Bruce Power is an annual sponsor of the IPM as it believes agriculture and energy can, and do, co-exist successfully.

“We are very honoured to offer additional funding when the plowing match is right here in Bruce County,” he said. “Many of our staff and suppliers and their families live here and we want to show our support for a program that will provide educational opportunities and a glimpse into how farming and rural life positively impact our community and province.”

As Bruce County farmers are in the midst of harvest season, the organizing committee continues to build toward what it believes will be the best IPM yet, and encourages everyone to watch and listen for more details on local media and social media as plans are developed for what will be an event to remember in the county in 2026!
