Huron OPP part of “Operation Impact” traffic campaign on Thanksgiving long weekend

HURON COUNTY, ON) - Members of the Huron County OPP will be taking part in the annual Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend Traffic Campaign from Oct. 10-13.
The focus will be placed on traffic safety and the "Big Four" which include:
- Distracted driving
- Alcohol/drug - Impaired driving
- Speeding/aggressive driving
- Seatbelt compliance
Last year, Huron OPP officers conducted 124 traffic stops and laid 89 charges during the initiative, including:
- 45 for speeding
- One for stunt-driving
- 10 for seatbelt violations
- Four for impaired driving
- Seven for insurance-related violation
- 22 various traffic-related violations
Huron OPP officers also issued 54 warnings during the campaign period in 2024.
