Huron Shores Hospice offers grief support group, and grief recovery sessions
Grief can leave us feeling uncertain and unsure of what comes next.

Huron Shores Hospice offers a grief support group, and grief recovery method sessions to help people navigate their loss and explore their feelings.

The monthly drop-in support group provides a safe, non-judgemental space for those who wish to share their story and connect with others who understand.

Each session is facilitated by trained professionals and has a suggested theme, but discussions are flexible and guided by the needs and experiences of those who attend. This month, the theme is, “I'm not okay – should I be? Where can I find support?" While the session has a theme, the conversation will follow what feels most meaningful to the group.

Grief is a deeply personal experience, and everyone’s journey is different. This session offers a welcoming space to share, listen, and connect. These gatherings are relaxed and open — you’re welcome to come just as you are and take part in whatever feels right for you.

Coming dates:

  • Saturday, Oct. 18 – Topic: I’m not okay – should I be? Where can I find support?
  • Saturday, Nov. 15 - Topic: My new normal after loss
  • Saturday, Dec. 13 - Topic: Grief and the holidays

Everyone is invited to participate or share this group with anyone who might benefit from steady support and connection during this difficult time.

GRIEF RECOVERY METHOD

For those seeking more in-depth support than the monthly drop-in groups, Huron Shores Hospice offers grief recovery method sessions — an evidence-based, educational program designed to help individuals process and recover from the loss of a family member or friend.

Led by trained and certified specialists, the program provides a safe and supportive environment to explore emotions, address unresolved feelings, and take practical steps toward healing.

This eight-week program builds on each session and includes activities between sessions, so attendance and commitment are essential. Sessions are offered in small groups, one-on-one, or on-line, providing flexibility to meet different needs.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, the program is offered free of charge.
