Doug Cowley of Kincardine dies at the age of 88
Douglas Harold Cowley of Kincardine, died Oct. 8, 2025, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine. He was 88.
Lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Betty (nee Morgan); his daughter, Susan Affeldt; and his son, Steven Cowley (Chris O’Driscoll).
Cherished by his grandson, Michael Affeldt (Christine); great-grandson, Sawyer; granddaughter-in-law, Vanessa; and step-granddaughter, Hailey O’Driscoll (Tyler).
Predeceased by his parents, Rose (nee Litner) and Colin Cowley; and grandson, Christopher Affeldt.
Doug was born in Toronto but raised in Kitchener, where he lived until his retirement.
Upon retirement, in 1997, he and Betty moved to Kincardine to their cottage on Lake Huron, located close to the Kincardine Golf Club where Doug was a member for many years.
A long-term member of the Probus Club, Tennis Club and Curling Club, Doug was a participating member of the community that he loved.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration to honour Doug will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be appreciated by the family.
