Life-long learning across Kincardine and District with CFUW
The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) of Kincardine and District is a non-profit, non-partisan organization where you will experience fun, friendship and life-long learning.

The club is part of a worldwide organization which connects to women across Canada and throughout the world whose common goals are to improve the status of women and human rights, pursue knowledge and promote education.

Today, the group is known as CFUW, honouring its historical legacy while reflecting that a university degree is not required to be a welcomed member. Membership in CFUW of Kincardine and District is open to all women who support the club’s goals. The group provides a supportive and welcoming environment!

CFUW of Kincardine and District was founded in 1991. It promotes education and advocacy for equality and the rights of women and girls. It also raises funds annually for bursaries for women across Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss who are enrolled in a post-secondary program. And it supports two local charities: Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey and the Kincardine Food Bank.

The club holds monthly meetings from September to June which feature stimulating speakers. These meetings usually take place on the first Monday evening of the month and guests are welcome to attend.

As part of CFUW-Canada, the club learns about, and has opportunities to take action on, a range of public policy issues important to women, including education, human rights, peace, justice and women’s equality.

The club also has interest groups that meet regularly. The variety of groups recognizes the diverse interests of the members and includes book club discussion groups, euchre players, dinner and breakfast clubs, mahjong, walking group and theatre group. New groups are formed based on members' interests.

Through the regular meetings and participation with advocacy projects and interest groups, CFUW of Kincardine and District members have the opportunity to make friends and enjoy the benefits of learning, socialization, supporting one another and working together for positive change in our communities.
