Kincardine Bulldogs suffer four losses over past two weeks in PJHL action
The Kincardine Bulldogs have managed to score no more than two goals per game, suffering four losses in Provincial Junior Hockey League action, over the past two weeks.
Oct. 3, the ‘Dogs lost a close one, 3-2, in a shoot-out, against the Ironmen in Wingham.
Goal-scorers for Kincardine, were Tyler Kelly, unassisted; and Jared Houghton from Dawson Marshall and Blake Hellyer.
Tied at 2-2, the game advanced to overtime but nobody scored, so it went to a shoot-out, with Wingham taking three goals to Kincardine’s two. Scoring for the ‘Dogs in the shoot-out, were Kelly and Bryce Martin.
Kincardine goalie Blake Beitz made 24 saves on 26 shots during regulation time.
Oct. 5, in Fergus, the ‘Dogs were thrashed by the Whalers, 14-2.
Scoring for Kincardine, were Carson Stutzman from Cole Lewis; and Zasha Ortman from Nathan Lavender.
‘Dogs goalie Beitz made 15 saves on 23 shots, while his colleague, goalie Madden Walden, made 15 saves on 21 shots.
Kincardine had 25 shots on goal, while Fergus had 44.
Friday night, Oct. 10, in Walkerton, the Capitals downed the Bulldogs, 4-2.
Goal-scorers for Kincardine, were Wyatt Thomas from Ortman and Kelly; and Lavender from Lewis and Ortman.
Kincardine goalie Nathan Penman made 20 saves on 24 shots.
Back at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Saturday night, Oct. 11, the ‘Dogs lost to the Hawks, 6-2.
Kincardine goals were scored by Hellyer from Kelly; and Kelly from Hellyer.
Bulldogs goalie Rowen Cherrett made 37 saves on 43 shots.
The ‘Dogs are on the road this weekend, playing in Mount Forest, Friday, Oct. 17, at 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 19, in Fergus, at 3 p.m.
Next weekend, they are home to Hanover, Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m.; and in Mitchell, Sunday, Oct. 26, at 4:30 p.m. Halloween night, Friday, Oct. 31, they are in Hanover for an 8 p.m. game.
