​Kincardine Bulldogs notch one win, two losses in PJHL action

The Kincardine Bulldogs continue to struggle as they notched one win and two losses in Provincial Junior Hockey Action over the past week.

Halloween night, they travelled to Hanover and came home on the short end of an 8-2 score.

Goal-scorers for the Bulldogs, were Cody Frook from Carson Stutzman; and Caeleb Bowler from Cole Lewis and Frook.

Kincardine goalie Nathan Penman made 13 saves on 17 shots, while goalie Blake Beitz made 15 saves on 19 shots.

Back at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Friday night, the ‘Dogs doubled Wingham, 6-3.

Tyler Kelly of the Bulldogs opened the scoring midway in the first period, assisted by Bowler and Lewis. Minutes later, Wingham tied it up and then took a 2-1 lead.

The 'Dogs jumped out into a commanding lead in the second frame, with three goals, making it a 4-2 game for Kincardine. Goal-scorers, were Lewis with a short-hander from Ty McQuillin; Chad Lawrence from Lewis; and Jared Houghton from Lewis and Bowler.

Lewis added another short-handed goal early in the third to make it a 5-2 game for the Bulldogs. Minutes later, Wingham scored to make it 5-3, but Bowler sealed the deal with a powerplay goal, from Kelly and Lewis, to give Kincardine the 6-3 win.

Bulldogs goalie Beitz made 36 saves on 39 shots.

Saturday night, the Mount Forest Patriots came to Kincardine and thrashed the ‘Dogs, 8-4.

Scoring for the Bulldogs, were Bowler from Kelly and Lewis; Lewis from Kelly; Bryce Martin from Wyatt Thomas; and Lewis from Kelly and Houghton.

‘Dogs goalie Penman made 24 saves on 30 shots, while Beitz made 10 saves on 12 shots.

The Bulldogs have two home games this weekend: Nov. 15 against Mitchell at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 16 against Walkerton at 4 p.m.
