​Kincardine remuneration down slightly in 2025

Kincardine ratepayers shelled out $361,754.81 in remuneration for members of council, and other boards and committees, in 2025. That's down slightly from $377,186.02 in 2024.

The main difference is the elimination of costs for the Bruce Telecom Board after the business was sold in March, 2024.

The report, as submitted by treasurer Roxana Baumann, was approved by council at the meeting Wednesday night (March 25), and states that council salaries, per diems, and expenses came to $346,149.84, up from $331,711.86 in 2024.

Remuneration was paid as follows:
 

• Mayor Kenneth Craig was paid a total of $62,064.83 including $43,631.08 in salary, $3,480 in per diem, and $14,953.75 in expenses.
• Deputy mayor Andrea Clarke received a total of $37,490.34, including $31,836.16 in salary, $780 in per diem, and $4,874.18 in expenses.
• Councillor Beth Blackwell was paid a total of $34,332.69, including $25,128.99 in salary, $2,540 in per diem, and $6,663.70 in expenses.
• Councillor Rory Cavanagh received a total of $43,074.29, including $25,128.99 in salary, $4,142.83 in per diem, and $13,802.47 in expenses.
• Councillor Mike Hinchberger was paid a total of $28,233.74 including $25,128.99 in salary, and $3,104.75 in expenses.
• Councillor Jennifer Prenger was paid a total of $42,170.22, including $25,128.99 in salary, $3,969.36 in per diem, and $13,071.87 in expenses.
• Councillor Amanda Steinhoff-Gray received a total of $34,370.35, including $25,128.99 in salary, $1,060 in per diem, and $8,181.36 in expenses.
• Councillor Bill Stewart was paid a total of $33,300.17, including $25,128.99 in salary, $1,840 in per diem, and $6,331.18 for expenses.
• Councillor Stellina Williams received a total of $31,113.21, including $25,128.99 in salary, $1,410 in per diem, and $4,574.22 in expenses.

POLICE SERVICES BOARD
 

• Councillor Rory Cavanagh was paid a total of $250 in per diem.
• Councillor Stellina Williams received a total of $250 in per diem.

SAUGEEN VALLEY CONSERVATION AUTHORITY
 

• Councillor Jennifer Prenger was paid a total of $1,089.60, including $840 in per diem, and $249.60 for expenses.
• Councillor Bill Stewart was paid a total of $1,348.56, including $970 in per diem and $378.56 for expenses.

WESTARIO POWER INC.
 

• Councillor Mike Hinchberger was paid a total of $12,379.32, including $8,813.40 in salary, $2,700 in per diem, and $865.92 for expenses.

HERITAGE KINCARDINE COMMITTEE
 

• Jaris Edwards was paid $287.49 for expenses.

Total remuneration was $361.754.81.
