Kincardine launches 2026 Community Improvement Plan programs
The Municipality of Kincardine has launched its 2026 Community Improvement Plan (CIP) programs, designed to support investment, revitalization, and long-term economic growth across the municipality.

For 2026, council has allocated $100,000 toward the CIP to support successful projects that strengthen the municipality. These funds will be directed to eligible initiatives that enhance the built environment, improve accessibility, support new and expanding businesses, and advance housing, commercial and industrial development opportunities.

The 2026 CIP suite includes key targeted programs:

  • Start-up Space Leasehold Improvement Program
  • Pre-development Study and Design Program
  • Building Improvement and Structural Program
  • Surplus Land CIP Program (coming soon)

In addition to these programs, the municipality has allocated $20,000 toward the Bruce County-supported Spruce the Bruce Community Improvement Plan program for 2026. This partnership provides local businesses and property owners with an additional funding stream focused on downtown revitalization and façade improvements.

“Strategic incentives, such as our Community Improvement Plan programs help reduce barriers and unlock private investment,” said mayor Kenneth Craig. “By supporting start-ups, building improvements, and new housing opportunities, we are creating the conditions for strong, continued growth across the municipality.”

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Application Intake 1 closes Friday, Aug. 28, at 4:30 p.m.
  • Application Intake 2 closes Friday, Oct. 16, at 4:30 p.m. (subject to available funding)
