West Coast Whitecaps U13A team wins WOAA championship
The West Coast Whitecaps Under-13 (U13) A team won the Western Ontario Athletic Association (WOAA) championship after a hard-fought series against the Southeast Surge.
The Whitecaps found themselves down early in the four-point series but battled back to take the second game and shift the momentum.
Thursday night, in Lucknow, the two teams met again, and the Whitecaps delivered a strong performance, earning a 4–0 shut-out win.
Goalie Landon Henderson was sharp in net, stopping every shot he faced. The forwards were relentless, constantly pressuring the Surge and creating scoring opportunities, while the defence was rock-solid, shutting down every attempt by the opposition.
Goals came from Rory McLaughlin, Lawson Cohoon, and Easton Andrew in the first period, with Bentley Morrison adding the final goal to seal the victory later in the game.
The Whitecaps now set their sights on the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) championship tournament in Whitby, April 3–5, as they continue their road to the Red Hats.
