Maintenance planned at Bruce County Museum to preserve collections, enhance experience
Planned maintenance at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton will begin this spring, taking about three months to complete, and will include roofing and replacement of climate control systems.

Regular programming and access to the museum will continue throughout the process, and there are minimal disruptions to service expected. Visitors will have safe access to the museum through the main entrance.

“This investment is about more than the facility,” said Bruce County warden Luke Charbonneau. “This is part of a continued effort to preserve the county’s history and ensure an excellent experience for all who come to explore our museum and participate in its exhibits, archives, and programming.”

The replacement of aging heating and cooling systems will improve the comfort of visitors throughout the museum. It will also keep the diaries, photographs, family trees, historical records and documents telling the stories of the county’s past, well-preserved.

Those living near the museum, visiting or working on-site will see and hear construction activities as the work progresses.
