Rainy, cold, windy Easter Egg Hunt in Victoria Park, Kincardine
It was cold, windy and rainy for the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Saturday morning, in Victoria Park, Kincardine, organized by the Kincardine Rotary Club and the Kincardine Agricultural Society.
About 100 children and their families gathered for the event, many in raincoats and carrying umbrellas.
Volunteers placed a pile of straw in the park and hid coloured eggs throughout. The children were divided into age categories: under three, three-to-five, six and seven, and eight and older. They then searched for the eggs and traded them in for treat bags full of goodies.
The Easter Bunny visited and posed for photos, and there was the added attraction of the Rabbit House Rescue and Sanctuary booth where, for a financial donation, the children could pose with the rabbits. Ruth and Don Shannon of Kincardine Township operate the sanctuary.
The event also featured Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services with a fire truck available for tours; coffee and hot chocolate from Tim Hortons; and sports tickets courtesy of Miller Insurance.
