Tomorrow night (May 1) is our first Music Bingo Night. Come and have some fun and give this new event a try. You can buy a booklet for our five games for $10 and that'll let you play two cards per game. Each game is a different themed playlist. We won't tell you what the playlists are just yet, but we have a good variety of tunes set up to go. Definitely music to tap your toes to, and singing and dancing are also encouraged.

Congratulations to Kathy Dickson, with lucky ticket No. 493054020, who won our third Early Bird Draw in the Kin Cares 50/50 Draw, last Friday, and took home the brand new Blackstone barbecue (valued at $600), generously donated by the Satosek Family and our local Canadian Tire.
Tomorrow (May 1), at 4 p.m., we announce our April jackpot winner. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets this month. Tickets for May go on sale May 1. Be sure to get your tickets early so that you're in all of the early bird draws for the month. Don't forget, you can set up recurring payments on the website as well, and that way your tickets will automatically come to your inbox each month.

At the Saturday Meat Draw, Karen and Rod Shanks won the 50/50 draw and took home a cash prize of $193.50. We didn’t have any double-dippers last Saturday, but I see Rod also took home a meat prize. There were some new names on the winners’ board, which is always great to see. One more regular meat draw this weekend, and then we will have our Mega Meat Draw, with HWY 19, Saturday, May 9. Be sure to be there as we will have some great draws that day!

Congratulations to Team ‘Almost Here’ which won Trivia Night (above) last Friday evening. Thanks to guest host Todd Thompson, and to everyone who attended. The next Legion Trivia Night is May 29 and remember that you can start to sign up your teams on the Monday of the week before the event. We had a full house at our April Family Dinner last Sunday. A big thank you to all the volunteers who make that happen each month with cooking, serving and cleaning up after. You are appreciated!

Burgers Nights before Bingo are back. If you are heading to Bingo, Thursday, or just want to come for dinner, Branch 183 is grilling up burgers from 5-6:30. Prices are as follows; Hamburger - $6.50, Cheeseburger - $7.50, and Fries, $5.

Veterans and Family Members please take note. We have a tentative visit scheduled from Rebecca Hyndman, our Provincial Service Officer, between May 27-29. She will be able to give information, assistance or advice to any veteran regarding a wide array of topics. Note: you must arrange/book an interview time to speak with her, by May 15. To book a time, send an E-mail message to our Branch Service Officer Dave Carson - sailorkit@gmail.com or call 519-386-5314. If you know any veterans, please mention this to them.

If you enjoy dancing to swing music, don’t miss the first Lighthouse Swing Band Dance, Sunday, May 3, from 2-5 p.m. This event’s theme is “Silver Screen Glamour,” and free dance lessons will be offered as well, by instructor Carmen Coburn. Admission is $20 per person.

One final thing ... We want to wish Everlie Waite good luck this weekend, as she competes in the Legion provincial public speaking competition finals, Saturday, in Napanee.
